you know, if you start posting monthly updates of how your growth strategy is going, or hem and haw about whether you’re going paid or not, someone’s going to remind you of this! I like where you’re going, probably because it’s similar to my attitude (though you express it with a bit more, uh, sass). Let ‘er rip!

Heh. I have no 'growth' strategy as such. Just writing and making. Plus, I'm sure that's banned on The Wednesday Audio haha

From one (small and very un-visited as mine) Cabinet to another (remarkable and grand such as yours!), it is the variety in topics that keeps me, the reader, curious and wanting to return! I want to see what interesting things you come up with this time, and then find something in my own life, as a human, that connects with it. It’s really that simple. You clearly have the skills and apparently the self-discipline to generate piece after piece of quality writing. Looking forward to seeing what weird stuff you will conjure up here!

I'm happy that you're here to come and see what weird thing happens next time...but that\s what it's about to get full of!

Thanks for your support Minna.

Yep, the short short Twitter doses of bland don't do much for me either. Looking forward to more weirdness from one weirdy writer to another, let us fiction our way forward. All the best.

‘ I write for fun. I podcast for fun. I have no reason to make something that is widely accepted by anyone. I strongly believe this is the way any of us should approach a creative activity, but we all end up getting waylaid somewhere by the lure of the comments and likes.’

YEEEES (the low voice on the soundboard not the high, squeaky one)

Fiction and Essays, now we're talking, you will have company, particularly on the weirdness bit.

"A meagre Craig appears!" Wild or meagre, I plan to check the contents of this cabinet regularly.

Excellent. It’s a bit squeaky. Occasional cobweb. I do my best.

Exciting! Writing fiction for fun and in your unique voice are essential. What other reason is there, really?

I know. To do any creative pursuit any other way is a waste of time

From the beginning I wondered if we could infect you with the fictioneering bug.

I'm over the moon that we succeeded and truly look forward to how far you'll go!

It WILL get weirder.

I’ve got this weird story on deck of mark zuckerberg that’s not mark Zuckerberg discovering he’s mark Zuckerberg (but not that mark Zuckerberg)

Ladies and gentlemen, we got him

You nailed the culturally hungover from too much social media feeling. Definitely. And yes: it all predictably became far too serious. Now everyone’s angrier, dumber and more disconnected. TikTok seems like it’s really making Gen Z part Neanderthal. I know I know: there are good, positive aspects of social media as well. Sure. But on balance? Is social media a net good? I say no.

Yeah, I certainly think that—over time—we'll look back on this weird era of social media and say "no, this WASN'T A GOOD THING"

Thanks for this. It all makes complete sense—but i understand I should not expect that going forward?

Are you familiar with Jonathan Haidt's work? He has some analysis of what has happened.

Hmmm…maybe it’ll make a little sense soon haha.

No, not heard of Haidt. What is worth looking at?
